Miles of trails along the Tennessee River in Concord, TN near the Knoxville Farragut border. Trails are well maintained, and there are many paths which all lead back to where you started (hard to get lost). It’s October and the light penetrates the forest canopy in such a way as to create a micro climate, as if you are almost indoors. You’re in the forest, near a lake (it’s a river) – breathtaking experience. Hiking doesn’t get any better than this – and it’s in the suburbs. Trails actually go by a golf course community with nice houses. Great walk for a family, individual, or with dogs. They were advertising bike racing on these trails (we didn’t see any bikes).
